Professional Experience

Research Designer, Reality Lab Research

  • Led the experience design for next generation AI wearables with advanced sensors beyond microphones and cameras, transforming the wearable from a complex research device to a developer-ready platform.
  • Used rich context gathered from the wearables to power agents and transform human-AI interactions, shaping the role AI wearable constellations play in the company's vision for contextual AI.
  • Delivered design principles for multimodal interactions that includes gaze, gesture, haptics, voice and more as the I/O channels, powering the interaction rules and UI components in the SDK of the AI wearable, and enabling internal teams to develop experience and research experiments much faster.
  • Created shell experiences for future AR devices with nondeterministic inputs and outputs, guiding the model development for handling the spatial and temporal dimension of a spatial interface, and providing the AI modeling team a concrete interaction and experience target the team can work towards.
  • Shaped direction of several HCI research projects by shifting the focus of interaction design from static menus to dynamic, context-aware, and intent-driven systems.

Product Designer, Visual Search & AR

  • Led the design and launch of StyleSnap, a photo search product enabling millions of Amazon customers to discover styles and outfits through fashion images, driving more than 3x monthly usage growth within six months and achieving a 20%+ weekly return customer rate.
  • Redesigned the live camera search and AR product preview experiences to better harvest the improvements in the models and tracking technology. Increased the product's retention rate and monthly active users by a double-digit percentage.
  • Pioneered a new visual language for photo search that brought design consistency to all camera related features and later populated across other parts of the Amazon shopping app.
  • Expanded customer reach by integrating the live camera search experience into 3rd party apps and operating systems.

Experience Designer, Innovation Lab

  • Invented and prototyped novel onsite retail shopping experiences with emerging technologies that would transform the retail business in the next 3-5 years.
  • Designed a mobile app live camera search and micro-location sensing tech for product discovery and "gamified" shopping at Target stores, paving the way for future stores and app development.
  • Prototyped mobile AR experiences for maintenance and repairs in industrial environments and VR experiences for interior customization to help partners and clients make strategic decisions and investments.

UX Designer

  • Designed a new dashboard and related tools for Global Traffic Management, where clients can monitor and configure online applications.
